Josh started his construction career exploring the different job sites his dad worked on as an owner of a brick / block / stone company. From an early age, he would watch as a forested plot of land transformed into a sprawling brick estate, observing how each trade played a unique but individual part in the process.
During the financial crisis of 2009, his father was newly employed as a superintendent who traveled across nearly every state east of the Mississippi. This allowed Josh his first taste of traveling out of state for work. While he would visit the job sites, Josh would often volunteer to sweep new units or help mix mortar for the brickies. For a kid in high school, earning cash for every hour he could handle, made the business of construction look lucrative with endless possibilities.
After years of traveling to jobsites and continuing to learn about the construction industry, Josh enrolled at Eastern Michigan University for a degree in Construction Management with a minor in Business. He has held various positions / internships for different specialty and general contractors, with no hesitation for job sites 5 or 500 miles away.
Josh joined Rival Insulation in 2024 after spending 6 years in the mechanical insulation industry working for a competitor. “The team at Rival pushes you to be the absolute best, and it is very exciting to have Chris and Paul in the trenches with me every step of the way. The level of cooperation and teamwork that happens daily really motivates you to never stop learning, and constantly improve your skills. I’m happy to be learning the project management and estimating skills from the best in the business.”
Today, you can find Josh out on the golf course for an evening round, boating and hiking up at his family property in Topinabee, or lounging in the pool, working from his laptop on either his pirate or pizza float.
